About Omphile Kgwathe-Nkiwane
Digital Education and Social Impact Leader | Strategic Impact Consultant
10+ years building learning systems, strategic partnerships, and digital products that have reached more than 900,000 learners across Africa.
I am not a generalist who stumbled into impact work from a corporate affairs background. I have spent my entire career at the intersection of community need, technology, and accountability — building things that work for people who the mainstream tends to design around rather than for.
My first job out of university was in the Social Innovation team at Red Bull South Africa. That grounding taught me the most important lesson in impact work: the best programmes are built with communities, not for them. And the worst ones are built by people who have decided what the community needs before they have listened.
- Red Bull South Africa | Social Innovation Team

- Dinaledi Initiative | Lead
- Placed young graduates into leading South African agencies as community managers, while building structured digital career pathways for young people who had previously been locked out of the industry.
